Trump removes Indian-American Vivek Ramaswamy from VP contender list

Former US President Donald Trump has rejected biotech entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy as a running mate and is now considering giving him a Cabinet position, according to Bloomberg, citing sources.

Despite the fact that Trump’s associates regard Ramaswamy as the ideal candidate for the role, the former US President personally informed him that he would not be selecting him for the vice president position. However, he is considering nominating Indian-American Ramaswamy as Homeland Security Secretary.

According to the story, Trump does not want to lose Ramaswamy because he has good public speaking skills that might help deflect criticism of strict immigration laws.

Several leaders, notably North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum, former US Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer, and Representative Elise Stefanik, have made a strong impact on Trump and his staff over potential Cabinet positions.

According to individuals familiar with Trump’s thinking, his priority is to choose a candidate who is not interested in gaining attention but will provide him with enormous support in order to defeat current President Joe Biden. So far, none of Trump’s potential running mates have wowed him, so his list has grown rather than shrunk, according to close associates.

Is Trump considering choosing a female candidate over Ramaswamy?

Ramaswamy, who was running for the Republican presidential nomination, withdrew after finishing fourth in the Iowa caucuses in January, trailing Trump and other candidates.

Though he did not win the presidential nomination, his tactic has proven effective in gaining Trump’s support and earning him a spot on the platform at campaign rallies.

At CPAC’s Ronald Reagan banquet on Friday night, Ramaswamy declared that Trump would lead Republicans to victory in what he described as a war for the United States’ destiny.

Some people may be opposed to choosing Ramaswamy, feeling that selecting a female candidate would make a significant impact. However, history demonstrates that having a woman on the ticket has little effect.

Trump could consider five strong GOP women as running mates

New York Republican Elise Stefanik, Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders, former Democratic Party representative Tulsi Gabbard, firebrand Republican Kari Lake, and South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem.

The Trump campaign is concerned about female voters, as one of the eight voters believes that abortion is a crucial issue for their vote in the 2024 elections. The former president has already started addressing the problem, portraying himself as a contender who wants to find common ground.
